Inside Line Promotions – TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. (May 2, 2017) – Anthony Miller recorded his third top-five result of the season last Saturday at Florence Motor Speedway with the South East Limited Late Model Series.

“I really enjoyed racing at Florence,” he said. “We were able to move forward and we learned a lot there. I’d really like to see the South East Limited Late Model Series return there in years to come.”

Miller said he struggled in practice, but the Orion Motorsports team was able to make adjustments to dial in the car before qualifying. He carried speed into Saturday’s events, timing in fourth quickest in qualifying.

“We had three rounds of practice before qualifying so that gave us time to make the right adjustments to our car,” he said. “We struggled the first two rounds of practice, but made a big adjustment in the final round and the car started working a lot better for qualifying.”

After 50 laps around the quarter-mile paved oval, Miller finished the main event where he started – fourth.

“Early on in the race, the leaders checked out,” he said. “We were running right with the third-place car for a while before a caution came out and bunched us back up. I started running the high groove and the car was working a lot better up there. We started battling for third for the last few laps of the race, but I drove it in too hard once and slid up the race track so we finished fourth.”

Miller has three top fives in four races this season. He holds a two-point lead in the South East Limited Late Model Series Challenger Limited Late Model championship standings.

He is tentatively scheduled to return to South East Limited Late Model Series action on June 10 at Newport Speedway in Newport, Tenn.
