Miller Captures Top Five in Debut at Dillon Motor Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – DILLON, S.C. (April 18, 2017) – Anthony Miller claimed his second top-five finish of the season with the South East Limited Late Model Series on April 9 during his debut at Dillon Motor Speedway.

After struggling with an ill-handling race car during the previous event, Miller and the Orion Motorsports team made the trip to South Carolina early on the Friday prior to the race for a test session.

“We wanted to go ahead and get some laps around Dillon to begin with, but really we wanted to make sure the same issues that arose at Greenville-Pickens didn’t come up again,” he said.

On Saturday, Miller opened practice with a fast race car and he qualified sixth quickest.

“We felt fast in practice,” he said. “It started to get tight at the end of practice, but we didn’t have enough time between practice and qualifying to make all the adjustments we needed to make the car better.”

After 50 green-flag laps on Sunday, Miller brought home a fifth-place result.

“We got behind early,” he said. “The race went green the entire time, so we really just didn’t have an opportunity to catch back up to the leaders.”

Miller is scheduled to return to South East Limited Late Model Series action on April 29 at Florence Motor Speedway in Timmonsville, S.C.

“We were still struggling with the same issues after Dillon,” he said. “So we went down to Florence on Monday for another test session. I think we’ve finally figured out and solved the problem. The car feels like it’s back to normal and like it did when we won at Greenville-Pickens earlier this season.

“I liked Florence a lot actually. It’s similar to Greenville-Pickens with the way you drive it. It’s got tight corners and really no outside wall so it’s different to see and race on, but I think it’ll make for some great racing.”
