Inside Line Promotions – EASLEY, S.C. (March 20, 2017) – Fresh off a win during the season opener last month, Anthony Miller returned to Greenville-Pickens Speedway last weekend in search of another victory with the South East Limited Late Model Series.

Miller and the Orion Motorsports team kicked off the weekend with a fast car in practice on Friday.

“We started off pretty fast and as the day progressed, we continually got faster,” Miller said. “We were actually faster this weekend than we were the last weekend when we won.”

On Saturday, two practice sessions took place before South East Limited Late Model Series qualifying. Again, Miller unloaded a fast car for the first practice, but he encountered severe handling issues for the second practice.

“When we went out for the second practice we were so tight so we kept coming in to make adjustments and hopefully loosen the car up,” he said. “We never got a good feel for the car or a solid run before qualifying.”

Still battling handling issues, Miller qualified eighth quickest.

“I was still so tight in qualifying,” he said. “It’s like nothing we tried was working or fixing the problem.”

That lined Miller up on the outside of the fourth row for the main event. After 40 laps around Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Miller ended the race ninth. However, due to disqualifications of other competitors, he was credited with a seventh-place finish.

Miller is scheduled to return to action on April 8-9 with the South East Limited Late Model Series at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, S.C.

“With it being my first time there, I’m pretty excited to go to Dillon,” he said. “Hopefully we can get the issues with the car figured out before we head down there and can get back the momentum we started the season with and get another win.”
